Denver lesbians arrested in gay marriage protest

On Monday, September 24, Kate Burns and Sheila Schroeder went to the Denver Clerk and Recorder Office to request a marriage license. When they were refused on the grounds of being a same-sex couple, the women sat in peaceful protest of the policy until the office closed and were then arrested for trespassing.
